About Reclaim The Day
We started Reclaim The Day to solve a single, overwhelming modern problem: parents shouldn’t have to work as full-time IT managers just to get everyone where they need to be on time.
Why Saturday Mornings Feel Like an Air-Traffic Control Failure
Between three different sports league apps, school district PDFs, swim meet updates on an email listserv, and last-minute carpool group texts, modern family life is drowning in digital clutter. It’s not that parents are disorganized—it’s that modern software wasn't built for households.
When a coach changes fields at 7:15 AM on a rainy Saturday, one parent gets an alert in an app while the other is already driving toward the wrong park with a hungry kid. Big tech keeps building tools for corporate workers on Slack, but almost nobody builds simple, privacy-first tools for parents trying to get two kids out the door with both shoes on.
We don't need another app to check, another subscription to pay for, or another glowing screen in the bedroom. We just want our schedules to show up where we already look, our clocks to know when it's a snow day, and our evenings to feel a little more peaceful.
Three Rules We Live By
Technology should take things off your plate, giving you back time for the things you actually enjoy.
No More "Chief Calendar Officer"
Parenting shouldn’t feel like running an understaffed logistics company. When schedules sync automatically into your shared calendar, logistics stop being an invisible mental tax carried by one exhausted parent. Both partners can own the day without having to manage each other.
More Life, Not Another App
We don’t need another nagging app with red notification badges or endless to-do lists. Good automation runs reliably in the background where you already look—so you can spend less time playing Sunday calendar Tetris and more time doing what you actually enjoy.
Tested at Our Kitchen Table
We aren’t productivity influencers selling courses. We are working parents in the daily grind. If a tool doesn’t survive contact with our real kitchen table and collapse a 30-minute headache into 30 seconds, we don’t share it.
Built by Paul
I’m Paul—a dad of two, husband, and tinkerer who got tired of watching family weekends get swallowed by logistics. Like most parents, I was spending Sunday evenings cross-referencing team apps, hunting for rainout emails, and negotiating who had carpool pickup on Tuesday.
Instead of waiting for Google or Apple to fix family sharing, I started building little automations and bedside hardware for our own home. When friends on the soccer sideline saw what I was using and asked for copies, I packaged them up and put them online for free.
No paywalls, no investors, no data harvesting. Just useful tools built by a parent who needed them, shared with anyone else who does too. I also write about practical household systems and calendar automation on Substack.
Our Independence & Product Disclosure
Trust is everything when it comes to family tools. We believe in complete transparency:
As of today, Reclaim The Day does not receive commissions, kickbacks, or sponsored payments for any tool, software, or service mentioned on this site.
Our guides, tutorials, and synchronization tools are built freely and independently to help parents solve real household problems.
Future Transparency Note: If we ever decide to recommend specific products, hardware, or family organization tools with affiliate partnerships in the future to help cover our hosting and domain costs, we will always clearly and prominently label them. We will only ever recommend products we personally own, thoroughly test, and trust in our own homes.

We love hearing how families use our tools, or what schedules you'd like to automate next.
