1. Welcome

Welcome to Reclaim The Day. By visiting our website at https://reclaimthe.day, using our family calendar sync tool, or reading our guides, you agree to these simple terms.

2. How the Tools Work

Reclaim The Day provides open tools and playbooks to help parents simplify household logistics—like automatically syncing sports, school districts, and activity feeds into your Google Family Calendar.

Runs in your account: The sync tool runs directly inside your personal Google account. We do not operate a central user database, we do not store your calendar events, and we never have access to your family's personal schedules.

3. Google Account & Permissions

To sync events, you give the tool permission to write to your Google Calendar.

• You are in full control of your Google account at all times.
• You can disconnect and revoke access whenever you want through your Google Security settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
• Our tools strictly follow the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

4. External Schedules & Feeds

Our sync tool reads public schedule feeds from third-party services (like sports leagues, school districts, clubs, or community calendar websites).

• Reclaim The Day is an independent parent project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any third-party calendar provider, league software platform, or Google.
• We don't control what coaches or organizations enter into their calendars. If a league posts the wrong field or reschedules a game late, our tool simply syncs what is published in their feed. Please always verify critical game and practice times directly with your organization.

5. Using Our Tools

You are welcome to use our tools, code, and guides for your household and family organization. We just ask that you play fair:

• Don't attempt to disrupt, hack, or overload the website or tools.
• Don't use our tools to spam or scrape third-party calendar providers.
• Don't resell our free tools or code as a commercial product without permission.

6. Open Source & Intellectual Property

We believe in open tools for families. The Spotify Bedside Clock (C++ firmware, 3D CAD models, LittleFS web dashboard, and schematics) is 100% open source under the MIT License on GitHub (pneedleman/reclaim-spotify-clock). You are welcome and encouraged to inspect the code, build your own, or modify it for your household.

Our Family Calendar Sync engine is adapted from the open-source GAS-ICS-Sync project by Derek Antrican, licensed under the GNU General Public License v3 (GPLv3). We actively contribute back to the open-source community—including upstream improvements for Google Calendar matching (PR #531).

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

We build these tools carefully and use them with our own families every single day. However, we provide everything free and "as is." We can't guarantee that a third-party league feed will never experience downtime, or that Google will never change their calendar interface. Please use common sense for critical family commitments.

8. Limitation of Liability

Reclaim The Day is an independent parent project. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable if a game was rescheduled, a field location was incorrect in a league feed, or you missed an event. Our goal is to reduce your mental load, but you remain responsible for your family's schedule.

If we make changes to these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page.
